Chilli Glass

I am an Otley based fused glass artist. I have worked for 30 plus years with glass, mastering different techniques including Tiffany copper foil and traditional leading.

Recently I’ve been exploring the process of kilned formed fused glass with a special interest in the chemical reactions that take place at high temperatures.

In my work I use a variety of glass in different forms: sheet, frit, stringers and powders to produce a range of glass designs. I particularly like to include the rolled edges created in the glass making process to give pieces an organic quality.

I take my inspiration from the natural environment including seascapes, landscapes and geological structures to create freestanding glass forms together with decorative pieces including jewellery.
