These small carved wooden shrink pots are great for keeping your jewellery in or as dried storage pots in the kitchen.
Carved from locally sourced wood.
A small fresh log is hollowed out leaving a wall thickness of about 6mm.
A groove is then carved on the inside for the oak base. The base is made slightly smaller, leaving a gap.
As the pot dries it shrinks onto the base, hence the name 'Shrink pot'.
Once fully dry a lid can be made to fit and the pot decorated or left natural.
The coloured pots are painted with milk paint which is then rubbed back to highlight the tool marks.
Not suitable for anyone with a nut allergy as all my pots are finished in walnut oil.
