"Shooting Star at Solstice" a two block jigsaw lino print inked and printed by hand onto an approximately A4 piece of hand crafted sustainably grown lokta paper.
The idea for this print came from a magical trip at winter solstice with people very dear to me. We sat in a wood fired hot tub viewing the wonderfully clear Yorkshire winter sky thick with star constellations and were blessed to see three shooting stars. The next day I researched mediaeval depictions of shooting stars, eventually crafting my own mediaeval inspired meteor as a centre piece to this hand carved, hand inked, hand printed image. A limited edition, as the blocks will one day degrade and become unprintable.
